Shareholders of PartyGaming are in good
spirits after hearing news of the company's end-of-year earnings. Even
after the brief scare in the third quarter caused by a lull of poker
players, PartyGaming has managed to jump back on top of its game and hold
the title of world's largest internet betting and online poker room operator
with pride and dignity.
Just since the third quarter, PartyGaming saw
daily poker revenues increase by 14%, while that of betting revenue from
newly added casino games like blackjack rose seven times as much. And
with 9 million players still hitting it up strong in all of Party Gaming's
online betting facilities, it looks as if the near future is just as
promising as has been Party Gaming's past endeavors.
Besides the companies move to bridge over
into forms of betting other than online poker, many analysts are attributing
PartyGaming's financial success to its decision to upgrade its software
platform, while excluding marketing partner Empire Online. And despite
the fact that Empire is taking the poker giant to court for breach of
contract, Party Gaming is remaining quite optimistic that it has done
nothing wrong, and is in no jeopardy whatsoever of having to payout any sums
of money to Empire.
Controlling more than half of the online
betting/poker industry, Party Gaming has made it a quest to sign up 800,000
new players for the year. And with nearly 2,500 new players signing up
everyday, it looks as if that goal is not far away.
