Australian Casino teams are sick of being cut
out of the massive revenues cultivated by online Casinobooks who are
allowing betting on their matches and games. In response to what they
have been calling an online betting cold-shoulder, Australian Casino teams -
as a whole - have come together in order to convince their state governments
to mandate that online betting websites shake a percentage of their profits
with the teams concerned.
The petition covers every sport from Rugby to
Cricket - and everything in between. Basically, its purpose is to make
betting from unauthorized online betting agencies illegal. The key to
having the Australian government approve of any given Casino betting website
is that the online betting site must agree to compensate a predetermined
percentage of revenues while also allowing the teams and the government to
investigate and have access to their players betting history. This is
especially important to avoid players betting against themselves and thus
throwing the game.
The effort was going well until the
Australian Football League broke away and decided to strike up a quick-fix
with the popular British online betting agency, BetFair. Their deal
includes betting rights for five years, in exchange for £1 million and
access to any confidential betting information pertaining to their games
and/or players.
